Message Preview for Mobile Notifications
VSee now gives you the option to preview message content directly from your mobile notifications without unlocking your phone. Previously, notifications displayed generic messages such as: "You have a new message" or "You have a new group chat message."
Notifications will now include the sender's name and the option to preview the message - giving you more control over what you see. You can also mask notification previews based on your system settings, displaying full content only when the device is unlocked.
For detailed steps on how to turn on notification previews, check out our KB article here.
Hide Self View
We recognize that during video calls, some users may find their self-view video distracting, that’s why we’ve added the ability to mute your own video. Just click on the video icon of your video window to see a list of video options, select the option to “Hide Self View”, and start making video calls that are more productive and enjoyable.
For detailed steps on how to select hide self view feature, check out our KB article here.
Security Improvements
We are implementing several key security updates to ensure user safety and data protection:
Increase minimum Android SDK version to 29 - Android 10
(Android 10 or above now required)
We are increasing the minimum supported Android SDK to version 29. This aligns VSee Messenger with Android 10’s advanced privacy and security standards. This update enhances app behavior controls, strengthens data privacy, and improves user permission management, demonstrating our commitment to user safety and a modern app experience. To continue using VSee Messenger version 4.23 or higher, all Android users must update their operating system to version 10 or later.
End Windows 7 Support
It’s time to say good-bye to Windows 7 support on VSee Messenger. Windows 7 has long passed its end-of-life (EOL) status and frequently experiences crashes. Its outdated frameworks and lack of updates compromises VSee user security. To continue using VSee Messenger and for improved performance, stability, and data safety, we recommend upgrading to Windows 11 or later. (Windows 8 and 10 have already passed or are nearing EOL status.)
Detect jailbroken device and prevent Messenger login
To prevent potential security vulnerabilities associated with compromised devices, this release integrates functionality to detect jailbroken or rooted devices and restricts Messenger login. This helps mitigate risks such as unauthorized access, data theft, and account compromise, upholding our users' security and trust.
Make sure to upgrade to the latest version on the day of the release.
